Carolyn Nguyen is a senior marketing and communications professional with deep expertise in graphic design, digital marketing, and visual storytelling. She holds a B.A. in Mass Communications with a focus in Advertising and a minor in Graphic Design from Texas State University, with additional design training from the University of Texas at Austin. She blends strategic communication with strong visual execution. Her background spans branding, campaign development, and translating complex ideas into clear, compelling visuals.

Carolyn launched her career in Silicon Valley, where she worked across startups and Fortune 500 companies, contributing to high-impact branding and marketing initiatives. Her work includes internationally recognized logos for 3D API standards such as Sony COLLADA, EGL, and OpenGL | ES for the Khronos Group, a global non-profit consortium focused on open standards for graphics, compute, and media. These projects demonstrate her ability to design at a global, industry-defining level.

An entrepreneur at heart, Carolyn later founded an electric bicycle company in Napa Valley, building partnerships with more than 35 wineries and restaurants, managing a team, and designing custom trail maps to elevate visitor experiences. The venture earned national media recognition and reinforced her strengths in brand building, partnerships, and experiential marketing.

She also serves as webmaster and graphic designer for the Hollyfield Foundation, a Houston-based non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and protecting individual rights and freedoms by funding nonprofit organizations that primarily serve the LGBTQ+ community in the Houston, Texas area. In this role, Carolyn manages the organization’s website, visual identity, and digital communications to help advance its mission and outreach efforts.

In 2024, Carolyn joined CAL FIRE Intelligence, a start-up program within CAL FIRE Headquarters, where she develops communication and design products supporting wildfire intelligence, remote sensing, and public-facing initiatives. Her work includes program branding, historical documentation, and visual assets for statewide and federal partners, including the Incident Awareness and Assessment working group.

Carolyn brings a rare combination of strategic thinking, hands-on design skill, and leadership experience, making her especially effective in roles that demand clarity, credibility, and creative precision.
